If model rocketry and NARAM aren’t enough to keep you occupied there are many other interesting things to do in the Muncie area. Near the entrance to the AMA Aeromodeling Center is the National Model Aviation Museum. The museum and library are dedicated to collecting and preserving significant pieces of aeromodeling history to provide an understanding of the historic, scientific, technical, and artistic legacy of model aviation hobbies; you might even see a model rocket or two in there.

Minnetrista, at 1200 Minnetrista Ave, is a museum and cultural center that serves the people of East Central Indiana. They offer exhibits and programs for children, families and adults that focus on nature, history, gardens, and art. On their forty-acre campus you will find gardens, a modern museum facility, a historic home, Nature Area, sculptures, and access to the White River Greenway.

Billed as a place “to provide fun through educational and interactive opportunities for children of all ages in a safe and creative environment,” the Muncie Children’s Museum is fun for the entire family. The museum, located at 515 S High Street, includes a large number of exhibits that change throughout the year.

If the Muncie Children’s Museum isn’t enough for your family you can take a short trip south and visit the Indianapolis Children’s Museum. Recognized as one of the oldest and best Children’s Museums in the world it will take you from the age of dinosaurs to the space age and all points in between. Located at 3000 North Meridian Street in Indianapolis, the Indianapolis Children’s Museum is a “must see” for all families.

While in Indianapolis plan to visit the Racing Capital of the World. Explore the history of auto racing at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum. The museum is located inside the 2.5 mile Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval at 4750 W. 16th Street. Here you with find some of the finest racing vehicles of the last century.
