Local Attractions

Besides NSL there are many other things to do in middle Tennessee to complete your visit. Here are some suggested nearby attractions if you have time or if the weather scrubs any flying.

Only a half hour away in Lynchburg is the Jack Daniel’s distillery. The one hour free tour takes you inside the facility to see how whiskey is made. It’s an educational chemistry lesson. Also enjoy exploring historic Lynchburg and celebrating Jack Daniel’s 150th anniversary.

Traveling North on I-24 about an hour takes you to Nashville, the home of country music. “Music City” has museums, great dining, shopping and entertainment. There’s more to see and do in Nashville than can be listed here as you’ll find out.

Head South on I-24  an hour to get to Chattanooga. Here are civil war parks and displays, the famous Rock City overlook and the acclaimed Tennessee Aquarium Tennessee Aquarium . Chattanooga also has Hamilton Place, the state’s largest shopping mall.

The pinnacle of your NSL 2016 trip would be to visit the Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama. About ninety minutes from Manchester, the SARC is a wonderland of rocketry history and science. A few miles away is the Huntsville Botanical Gardens, a flowery oasis with a butterfly house and nature center. For shopping and dining at one stop, go to the Bridge Street center.
