Brief Summary of the Proposed Change: I am proposing a change to Rule 13.1 National Rocketry Competition (NRC), Section 13.1.4 – NRC Events List to add ¼A-B Rocket Glider.
State the Logic of the Change: The NRC currently includes ¼A-A Boost Glider. ¼A-B Rocket Glider is a natural extension of that NRC event and will use similar skills developed from Boost Glider. This event would certainly be no more difficult than the Helicopter Duration event, currently part of the NRC.
Effect if any on Current Competition and NAR Records: There will be no significant impacts to manufacturers, contest management, records or range operations from this proposed change.
Exact Wording for the Rule Revision as it should appear: Add the following to the list in 13.1.4 NRC Events List: 1/4A–B Rocket Glide

Personally, I would rather see it be 1/2A to B and would also not mind BG go up to B as well, (But I digress...) And I would rather this change be in place in conjunction with your earlier proposal around varying the events with the ages to avoid 1/4A RG and 1/4A HD while trying to get 3rd and 4th graders interested in contest rocketry.
I think this would be a great idea, however RCPs 2019-6 and 2019-10 are almost identical except for the motor range. I think the authors of RCPs 6 and 10 should get together to arrive at a singe common motor range for an NRC rocket glider event, maybe 1/2A-B. C may be a little big for a lot of flying fields, and 1/4A may be small for the kids with the only delay available being 3 seconds.
