club_options_activities : OKC Rocketry is dedicated to promoting the science and engineering of rocketry, as well as providing a safe and fun environment for individuals of all ages and skill levels to explore their interest in rockets. We are a fully recognized Section of the National Association of Rocketry (NAR) and have been flying rockets together since our club was established in 2008. Our website is OKCRocketry.com. We invite you to please take a look at our site and learn a little more about us. OKC Rocketry members have the opportunity to participate in quarterly meetings where we discuss the latest developments in amateur rocketry, share rocket building tips and techniques, and plan upcoming launches. We also host monthly launch events where members can fly their own rockets and witness the results of their hard work. In addition to these activities, we also provide educational resources and support for those interested in learning more about rocketry and related fields.
club_options_hpr : OKC Rocketry has a waiver to 17K feet AGL. We launch low, mid and high power rockets at all launches. Please check OKC Rocketry on our Facebook page to insure the launch is happening. Vance AFB flight operations, high winds or burn bans prevent scheduled launches from time to time. Occasionally, our launch altitude is reduced to 5K feet AGL due to Air Force flight operations in our area.
club_options_launches : OKC Rocketry schedules a rocket launch on the second Saturday each month with a back up date on the fourth Saturday of the month. Currently launches are held at the Deal family farm near Billings, OK. This area has significant historical and sentimental value to the Deal family—it was was awarded to the Deal family during the 1898 Oklahoma land run. OKC Rocketry humbly requests that all flyers only visit the property during a scheduled launch. We also asks that those in attendance for launches please respect the significance of the property to the family.
