Monthly Sport Rocket Launch of the San Luis Valley Rocketeers, NAR Section 774
Come Fly with us! Our monthly sport launch occurs on the Second Saturday of each month April through October, 9:00am – 12:00pm. All ages, all skill levels, and helpful rocketeers on hand to assist / coach / train / and be safe. The first launch of the season features lots of kids, families and new rocketeers from the Cub Scouts, 4H, Boys and Girls Club, Boy Scouts, and Alamosa Family Rec Center classes. This is quite a large launch and the focus is on making sure the kids are successful. Monthly launches are free-fly sport launches. Rocktoberfest is the last scheduled launch of the season. We feature a Spud-Lofting contest and schedule our launch date along with the Alamosa Oktoberfest celebration.
Our new launch site is about seven miles south-west of Waverly and about 14 miles from Alamosa. Our FAA COA is for 12,000′ AGL with a launch radius of 1 nautical mile.
