South Texas Rocketry Group (STRG) establishes to rekindle interest in rocketry and support community organizations by hosting family-friendly model rockets and high-power rocketry launches in the South Texas area. In addition, we provide safety and rocketry expertise to; the Surrounding Community, Schools, Scouts, Civil Air Patrol (CAP), The American Rocketry Challenge (TARC) teams, Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC), and University Rocketry Projects.Launches
Our launches are free, and there are no membership requirements. We welcome families and new flyers of all ages. We perform launches under the National Association of Rocketry (NAR) safety rules. The regulations are in the following National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards, the code for Model Rocketry (NFPA 1122) and the code for High Power Rocketry (NFPA 1127). We have one field, the Beeville Municipal Airport, Beeville, TX (28°22'3.58"N, 97°47'45.44"W).HPR
FAA waivers the surface to 12,500 feet and the surface to 8,000 when the Military Operation Area is active—within one nautical mile of Beeville Municipal Airport at Beeville, TX—flying up to and including J motors.Meetings
There will be a debrief at the New China Buffet in Beeville immediately after the launch.
