ROC serves the Southern California region with monthly high power launches at Lucerne Dry Lake Bed in Lucerne Valley, CA. We are a volunteer run organization that is NAR Section #538, TRA Prefecture #48.
Our monthly launches usually occur on the 2nd Saturday of the month, conditions permitting. Our FAA waiver is to 7,000‘ AGL.

NOVAAR flies competition and sport model rockets and high-power rockets. Rockets with a motor impulse greater than J are not allowed. Sparky motors are not allowed. Maximum 3000‘ for dual-deploy and 2500‘ for apogee deploy, weather dependent.
If you are not a NOVAAR member, each model rocket launch costs $1, HPR launches are $5 and HPR Cert attempts are $10. Check-in collects the launch fee.
In the event of inclement weather, the decision to cancel or postpone the launch will be posted on our website no later than 7pm the day before the launch.

NOVAAR - Great Meadow Launch Site

This is the annual low power night launch. Rockets must have successfully flown that day in exact night configuration in order to be eligible for the night launch. No waiver for the night launch.
NOVAAR flies competition and sport model rockets and high-power rockets. Rockets with a motor impulse greater than J are not allowed. Sparky motors are not allowed. Maximum 3000‘ for dual-deploy and 2500‘ for apogee deploy, weather dependent.
If you are not a NOVAAR member, each model rocket launch costs $1, HPR launches are $5 and HPR Cert attempts are $10. Check-in collects the launch fee.
In the event of inclement weather, the decision to cancel or postpone the launch will be posted on our website no later than 7pm the day before the launch.

Regular club sport launch, HPR launch, NRC contest and ARC test/qualification flights. Sponsored by the Fox Valley Rocketeers.
This will be our last sponsored launch of the 2026 flying season.
While we permit flights in any NRC event, we do not supply items like eggs, payloads, or altimeters. Contestants should bring their own.
We run a “Misfire Alley” range, so please bring your own pad and launch system.
We do supply a single HPR pad with a 1010 launch rail and launch system for HPR flights.
High Power Waiver in effect to 6,000 AGL. The field supports up to Level 2 flights. All HPR flights require preflight inspection by the RSO. We do not have a motor vendor at our launches. Please contact us in advance if you need to do an NAR Level 1 or Level 2 Certification.

Model Rocket launches run by SCRA as a Core Program Partner of the County of Los Angeles Department of Parks & Recreation. SCRA conducts controlled & supervised launches for the general public at the Santa Fe Dam Recreational Area in Irwindale on the dates listed below. YOU CAN ONLY LAUNCH IN THE PARK AS PART OF A CONTROLLED & SUPERVISED LAUNCH!! Normal SCRA safety-check and launching procedures will be followed. All motors must be Classified as "Model Rocket Motors" by the CA Office of the State Fire Marshal.
