NSL-2020 Becomes NSL-2021

The NAR is postponing NSL-2020 in Alamosa, CO. It will now be held in Alamosa, May 29-31 in 2021 (Saturday-Monday). National Events is working closely with NSL Event Director Matt Abbey and the members of the San Luis Valley Rocketeers regarding the rescheduling. Updates will be announced as soon as details and arrangements are finalized regarding the launch site and the hotels in Alamosa. All currently paid registration fees will be refunded. If you booked a hotel room for NSL 2020, please call and cancel. You will not be charged any cancellation fees.

Come and fly in beautiful Colorado! Alamosa has a base elevation of over 7,500’ and sits in a valley surrounded by mountains. We recommend up-sizing your chute to accommodate the thinner air. Our launch field boasts clean sight lines in all directions with low scrub cover. Our launch site is relatively new to the club but has already logged hundreds of flights from all skills levels, boy scouts to high-power.

One exciting feature of NSL this year will be our Spudlofting competition, where you are challenged to reach a target altitude with a potato (one of the San Luis Valley’s staple crops) and return it in an edible condition. We have a pallet of potatoes to be lofted, so come prepared to enjoy some baked potatoes!

Our waiver will allow us to fly to 12’000 feet AGL. Flights will begin at 8 a.m. and continue through 4 p.m.

NSL Spudnik 2020 is hosted by the San Luis Valley Rocketeers, where our main goal is to pay it forward and expand the hobby to our younger generations. Our club hosts a launch on the second Saturday of every month during the summer.
