Piedmont Area Rocketry Club (PARC) #710

COVID has changed our dealings with the local schools and scout groups in our area. That being said, PARC will always do whatever it can to aid any local group that would like to use rocketry to provide STEM education for their members. PARC club members compete with each other by deciding on an annual club project. This year we chose to build an up or down sized model of any Estes rocket kit ever made in honor of Vern Estes’s 90th birthday. For our last PARC club project, we scratch built a one sixth semi scale model of a Mercury Redstone, which fly’s on a central M2500 and four K motors. PARC typically attends launches hosted by KLOUDBusters at Argonia, KS and Tulsa Rocketry’s High Frontier in Pawhuska, both events scheduled in September.Launches
PARC schedules a rocket launch every other month at the Deal family farm. The Deal farm was awarded to the Deal family during the 1898 Oklahoma land rush. This area has significant historical and sentimental value to the Deal family. PARC humbly requests that all flyers only visit the property during a scheduled launch. PARC also respectfully asks that those in attendance for launches please respect the significance of the property to the Deal family. Also, please be advised that the last 2.6 miles to the Deal family farm is a county dirt road.HPR
PARC has a waiver to 17K feet AGL. We launch low, mid and high power rockets at all launches. Please check Piedmont Area Rocketry Club on Facebook to insure the launch is a go. Vance AFB flight operations, high winds or burn bans will prevent a scheduled launch. Occasionally, our launch altitude is reduced to 5K feet AGL due to Air Force flight operations in our area.Meetings
COVID has placed a damper on our monthly club meetings. Our club will typically have a meeting after a scheduled launch at the farm before we return home from a days flying.
