NCR's North site is one of the premier launch sites in the West. With its location in the middle of 150 square miles of gently rolling prairie, and boasting a 20,000 ft AGL waiver, NCR uses this site for 1/4A thru O powered flights on second Saturdays, spring thru fall. NCR's Atlas sites features a paved road leading to a concrete launch pad in the middle of 4 square miles of treeless public land. The area is conducive to launching 1/4A thru J motors, or K motors with advanced notice. NCR uses the Atlas site on the first Saturdays and mostly during the winter. Competition Event Abbreviations
Here is a list of the abbreviations commonly used to describe competition events.
Some of these abbreviations will be preceded with a letter identifying a motor impulse class. For example, A PD is the Parachute Duration event which uses A motors.
Duration events flown in multi-round FAI style will carry the suffix MR.
Refer to the current NAR Sporting Code ("Pink Book") for the complete rules of all NAR competition events.
